Introduction
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Gender Centre of Excellence (GCE) of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) conducted a Midline Evaluation for the Framework for Advancing Women’s Financial Inclusion in Nigeria (FAWFIN). This evaluation report presents the evaluation’s approach, findings, conclusions and recommendations. The purpose of this midline evaluation is to
understand the extent to which the FAWFIN is achieving its expected results and objectives and to unpack the key lessons learned thus far.
Genesis Analytics (‘Genesis’) is supporting the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Gender Centre of Excellence (GCE) of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) to conduct a comprehensive situational analysis on Women’s Financial Inclusion (WFI) in Nigeria since the last assessment that was conducted in 2019. The main objective of the study is to review the status of women’s financial inclusion in Nigeria and the ecosystem that supports it, which will inform actionable recommendations and interventions for the GCE, CBN, and other market actors. The study will also help the GCE to collect relevant baseline data that can guide its work and future investments in Nigeria.
Introduction
This study provides an in–depth analysis of the state of women’s financial inclusion (WFI) in Nigeria and the progress made in implementing the FAWFIN. The Gender Centre of Excellence, in close collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria, Financial Inclusion Delivery Unit (FIDU) Gender Desk, has conducted a comprehensive situational analysis on Women’s Financial Inclusion (WFI) in Nigeria since the last assessment that was conducted in 2019. The study also took stock of progress made in the implementation of the Framework for Advancing Women’.
The Gender Centre of Excellence, a strategic resource center and knowledge hub established to advance women’s financial inclusion in Nigeria and beyond. The GCE is fiscally sponsored by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors with funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
